Do any luxury brands have factories in China?

In fact, many well-known brands have numerous product lines and employ dozens or even more than a dozen domestic manufacturers in China. For example, NIKE shoes are produced in four factories in Qingdao, and even more in Fujian and other places. The following information is for reference only.

  1. Liantai Company (with factories in Dongguan, Qingyuan, Jiangsu, etc. Own brand: Yuantai Sportswear)
    Number of workers: Approximately 80,000.
Foreign brands manufactured: Ralph Lauren, ADIDAS, Liz Claiborne (a famous mid-tier American brand), Calvin Klein, Victoria’s Secret.
  2. Lianye Company (Headquarters in Hong Kong, main processing factory in Dongguan, mainland China)
    Number of workers: Approximately 50,000.
Foreign brands manufactured: DKNY, J Crew, NAUTICA, Givenchy, BROOKS BROTHER, Burberry, Callaway (golf equipment).

Foreign brands manufactured: Pringle, Miss Sixty, YSL, Diesel, Marc Jacobs, Ashworth.
  9. Xiamen Yi Group (Wenzhou, a joint venture with Zegna. Own brand: Xiamen Piombo (joint venture brand))
Xiamen Company started as a manufacturer for Zegna and later became a joint venture with Zegna investment. It can no longer be considered just a manufacturer. It produces many high-end men’s clothing brands, including Zegna, with fabrics directly supplied from Zhejiang, a major fabric-producing province.
  10. Ningbo Shenzhou Group (Factories in Ningbo, Quzhou, Vietnam, etc.)
Number of workers: Over 100,000. Own brand: MAXWIN.
Clients: NIKE, ADIDAS, PUMA, ANTA, and casual brand UNIQLO.

After reading the above, do you have a better understanding of major luxury brands? Although most luxury brands are manufactured in China (over 60% of the world’s luxury goods are made in China, and 70% are purchased by Chinese consumers), to protect the historical reputation of the brand (such as century-old Italian craftsmanship) and brand premium, many products are sent abroad after completing the main processes. After inspection and personalized finishing by master craftsmen, they are labeled as “MADE IN ITALY” or “MADE IN FRANCE,” etc. Of course, PRADA has publicly stated that most of its products are made in China, which shows both courage and some helplessness.
